Using Raw Honey for Skin and Haircare

Honey by natures Blends

Raw honey is a lot more than just a delicious addition to your morning toast or a healthy salad. In fact, this sweet syrupy ‘superfood’ has all kinds of health and beauty uses, thanks to its enriching content and unique properties.

If you’re in doubt, take one walk down the beauty aisle at your favorite cosmetics store and you will notice that raw honey is everywhere.

Raw honey is widely used in skincare products like face masks, cleansers, toners, scrubs, and balms as well as hair care products like shampoos, conditioners, and hair masks -and for a good reason!

Raw and unpasteurized dark honey is packed with natural nutrients like minerals and vitamins, probiotics, anti-aging compounds, and antioxidants that replenish, strengthen and protect the skin and hair.

If you are wondering how to include raw honey in your hair and skincare routine, you’re at the right place - but first, let’s take a moment to understand the various benefits of raw honey:

Why Use Raw Honey?

Raw honey is perfect for topical use because it is rich in a variety of natural compounds that boost skin and scalp health.

Regular honey undergoes many stages of processing and filtration, during which it loses most of its natural nutrients like pollen and antioxidants. This can remarkably reduce its efficacy.

Raw honey, on the other hand, is only strained once and that too, gently. That’s why it retains most of its beneficial ingredients, pollen content, and natural properties.

Honey is a miraculous natural product and pairing it up with other all-natural and organic ingredients is the best way to harness its beauty benefits.

It is packed with nutrients, probiotics, and other health-giving compounds that have anti-bacterial and anti-septic properties. This makes it an ideal choice for skin cleansers and hair rinses.

It also reduces inflammation and scarring by rehydrating the skin, aiding tissue repair, and supporting skin elasticity. Raw honey is also incredibly beneficial for hair. It strengthens hair from within, reduces scalp flakiness, and gives it a natural shine.
