Nature's Blends WHOLESALE RAW APPLE CIDER VINEGAR (500ml) is a raw, unfiltered, unpasteurised apple cider vinegar containing the naturally occurring 'mother' culture — a colony of beneficial bacteria, wild yeasts, and cellulose strands formed during the two-stage fermentation process. Unlike clear, pasteurised apple cider vinegar, our raw ACV retains the mother culture, naturally occurring enzymes, and organic acids that are destroyed by commercial pasteurisation and fine filtration. The vinegar is produced from whole apples via alcoholic fermentation (converting apple sugars to ethanol) followed by acetous fermentation (converting ethanol to acetic acid). The finished vinegar contains 5% acetic acid, which is the internationally recognised food-safe concentration for vinegar.
The 'mother' in apple cider vinegar is a naturally occurring matrix of acetic acid bacteria (primarily Acetobacter species), wild yeasts, and cellulose strands that form during the acetous fermentation stage. It appears as cloudy sediment or floating strands in the vinegar. Pasteurisation destroys the mother culture, which is why commercial pasteurised ACV is clear. Raw, unfiltered ACV retains the mother, along with naturally occurring enzymes, trace minerals, and organic acids produced during fermentation. The mother is harmless and is considered a marker of authenticity in raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar.
Dilute 1–2 tablespoons (15–30ml) in a large glass of water (at least 200ml) and drink before meals, or mix into salad dressings and marinades. Always dilute before consuming — never drink undiluted apple cider vinegar, as the acetic acid can damage tooth enamel and irritate the throat and oesophagus. Shake the bottle before each use to distribute the mother culture. Can also be used diluted as a hair rinse (1 tablespoon in 250ml water applied to hair after shampooing) or as a natural household cleaning agent.
