Product Overview

▶ Halal Certified

This product is Halal certified. All ingredients and production processes comply with Islamic dietary requirements.

Nature's Blends Wholesale Manuka Honey 800+ Mgo - 250g is a raw, unpasteurised New Zealand Manuka honey with a certified MGO (methylglyoxal) rating of 800+ mg/kg, equivalent to approximately UMF 20+. Manuka honey is produced by bees foraging exclusively on the Leptospermum scoparium (Manuka) tree, which is native to New Zealand and parts of south-east Australia. Unlike standard honey, Manuka honey contains uniquely high concentrations of methylglyoxal (MGO) — a naturally occurring compound that forms from dihydroxyacetone (DHA) present in Manuka nectar. MGO concentration is the primary scientifically verified marker of genuine Manuka honey, and this product has been independently tested and certified to confirm the stated 800+ mg/kg concentration. Every batch carries a Certificate of Analysis.

  • Certified 800+ MGO (methylglyoxal) per kg — equivalent to UMF 20+
  • New Zealand Leptospermum scoparium (Manuka) honey — single-origin, mono-floral
  • Raw and unpasteurised — never heated above hive temperature
  • Unfiltered — retains naturally occurring pollen, enzymes, and minerals
  • No additives, no blending with other honeys, no added sugars
  • Independent Certificate of Analysis per batch — MGO concentration verified
  • Suitable for vegetarians | Not suitable for vegans
  • Not suitable for children under 12 months

MGO vs UMF — Understanding Manuka Grading

Manuka honey is graded by two main systems: MGO (methylglyoxal, measured in mg/kg) and UMF (Unique Manuka Factor, a proprietary grading standard). MGO is the more scientifically direct measurement — it measures the actual concentration of methylglyoxal in the honey. UMF incorporates MGO alongside other markers including leptosperin and DHA. Our 800+ MGO rating corresponds to approximately UMF 20+. The higher the MGO number, the higher the methylglyoxal concentration. An MGO rating of 800+ means the honey contains a minimum of 800mg of methylglyoxal per kilogram, verified by independent laboratory analysis.

Origin & Production

Genuine Manuka honey can only be produced from bees foraging on Leptospermum scoparium trees in New Zealand. The Manuka tree flowers for only a few weeks each year, typically between November and February in the Southern Hemisphere. During this short flowering window, beehives are positioned near Manuka-dense areas — particularly in the North Island hill country and Northland region of New Zealand. After harvesting, the honey is minimally processed — creamed or left in its natural state — and bottled without heating above 40°C to preserve its naturally occurring enzyme activity, including leptosperin and glucose oxidase.

Suggested Use

Take 1–2 teaspoons (7–14g) daily, directly from the spoon. Can also be spread on toast, stirred into warm (not hot) water, or added to yoghurt. Do not add to boiling water or hot drinks above 40°C as excessive heat will damage naturally occurring enzymes. Store at room temperature — do not refrigerate. Manuka honey will naturally crystallise over time; this is normal and does not affect quality. Gently warm the jar in a bowl of warm water to reliquefy if desired.
