Bamboo cups are among the oldest forms of cupping vessels in recorded history, traditionally used across China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East for centuries before the advent of glass and silicone alternatives. The natural bamboo provides a warm, porous surface that holds heat effectively during fire cupping and creates a comfortable, natural rim against the skin.

Bamboo cups are used exclusively with the fire cupping technique. Use forceps or a fire cupping stick with alcohol-soaked cotton to briefly heat the inside of the cup. Quickly invert and press firmly onto the oiled or dry skin. The cooling air creates suction against the skin. Leave stationary for 5–15 minutes. Slide or gently press the rim to break the seal and remove. Bamboo cups cannot be used with vacuum pump systems as they have no valve fitting.
